In 2010 the RILM Ireland committee was awarded a grant of £1000 to eliminate the backlog in the RILM database of books and theses from Ireland. New records with abstracts were created for 218 items; 30 new records were created without abstracts; and abstracts were added to 62 existing records. The project also enabled the committee to make professional contacts which will enable systematic updates to the RILM database in future, thereby minimising the risk of a new backlog. Tutorial videos to encourage self-submission of publications to RILM by authors are available online.
